"I met Julie while she was selling a house. My wife and I had been going to open house’s every weekend for a few months at this time. She showed us around, answered all of my wife’s questions to which there were many. We ended up not buying that house… , to my dismay, but a few weeks later when we were ready finally put our house on the market, out of all the agents that we had met at open houses, Julie was the only one we felt confident working with. Before we approached her we did what anyone would of done, we googled her. Her background was impressive, long time in real estate, owning her own company, but it was having one of her listings on the Today Show is what clinched it for us.
We had two problems with selling our house, first we bought in 2008 so we knew that we were not going to like the “real” non-Zillow, value of our house; second, how do we buy and sell at the same time while disrupting our kids’ lives as little as possible. Julie meet with us at our house after work, she brought over our analysis and explained what the best way to market the house would be. She explained how people search for houses and how it was important to price the house correctly so as not leave money on the table by pricing to low and not to have to do price reductions if you price too high.
Following Julie’s advice, we managed to sell our house in January a little over a week after we put it on the market for full asking price.
Buying a house was a little more complicated and this is where Julie really shined, in negotiating. We ended up in a small bidding war with another party for “our” house at nine PM on a Sunday night. She was able to keep us grounded in the amount that we were bidding by not letting us over bid. In the end we end up getting the house for a little more than we wanted to pay but a lot less then we were willing to pay thanks to Julie’s experience and dedication to her clients."
